DERMAL FILLER PRE AND AFTER CARE

Pre-Care Instructions

To ensure you achieve safe, smooth, and long-lasting results from your dermal filler treatment, please follow these recommendations before your appointment:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment — it can increase your risk of bruising and swelling.
• Stop taking blood-thinning medications or supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or Ginkgo Biloba) for 3–5 days, unless prescribed by your doctor.
• Avoid active skincare products (retinols, AHAs, BHAs, exfoliants) for 2–3 days before treatment.
• Do not schedule dental work or facial treatments (facials, peels, or laser) within 2 weeks of your appointment.
• Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session.
• Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, moisturizers, or SPF on the treatment area.
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection or cold sore, please reschedule your appointment.
• Consider taking Arnica tablets a few days prior to your appointment to help minimize bruising (optional).

After-Care Instructions

Following proper after-care will help reduce swelling, prevent complications, and achieve the best aesthetic result:

• Do not touch, press, or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours, unless instructed by your injector.
• Avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and heat exposure (saunas, hot tubs, sunbathing) for 24–48 hours.
• Do not apply makeup, skincare products, or SPF to the treated area for 24 hours.
• Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness is normal and should settle within a few days. Apply a cool compress (not ice directly) to soothe the area if needed.
• Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated on the first night to reduce swelling.
• Avoid facials, massages, or dental work for at least 2 weeks after treatment.
• Do not expose the area to extreme cold or heat during the healing process.
• Stay well-hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine to support your results.
• Final results will settle within 2 weeks, once any swelling or minor asymmetry has resolved.
• A review or top-up appointment may be scheduled after 2–3 weeks if needed.
